Description - window design

Window design will primarily be focused on the first floor and the third floor, since the second floor is for lecture halls, there will be no windows since I want the audience to concentrate fully on the talks.

On the third floor, I researched mainly large glass windows located at corners of buildings, considering the museum's shape, and the third floor's function as a rest area and gift shop, which is more leisure.

I decided to construct two types of windows for the rest area and the gift shop. In the rest areas, windows are comparatively larger since they are facing the sea, and designs are simpler since the focus should be on the view rather than the window design. On one corner of each side that belongs to the rest area, I decided to make three-dimensional windows that stick out from the building to let tourists sit on the windows and take photographs. When I initially made this design visualisation, the measurements were incorrect and it obstructed the window view from the opposite side, so I made changes and created a smaller sticking-out window. In designing the windows of the gift shop, I took inspiration from Curving House by JOHO Architecture, in which the windows have limited exposure of the outside view; it is by considering the interior of the gift shop should utilize interior walls to display souvenirs.

For the first floor, the blocks' windows are designed to reflect each block's individuality by the elements of democracy. My designs are inspired by graphics logos that represent those elements or pictures that came to mind.
