I tried to cut out model of sketch 1 using grey foam but failed due to the improper shape. After having a discussion with my classmate, I figure out the problem but the solution (like the possible way to cut it) is not what a want, I have to remove the slant part if doing so. Hence, I need to consider other materials or fix the design in a great extent. But I still want to get a model done today, so I move on using the grey foam to build sketch 2 model instead. It was a huge success, I managed to get the outcome that is very similar to the sketch. I just have to add some details later (some small foam parts for the pillars). Then I have some feedback from tutor Alix(?), she told me to take a step back and she said democracy is all about open source. I can interview with my friends and see how they think. Democracy is also about transparency, think about what makes those buildings democratic. It is about equality sometimes, an example she mentioned is Table Ronde Roi, where King Arthur and the servant sat in circles. Usually the King sits at the far end of a rectangular table to show his authority but Table Ronde shows that everyone is equal there. Also she said think about how the content (the interior) affect the design, as I mentioned there will have discussion space, film display, talks, exhibition etc... these factors will also determine the structure. I received very valuable feedback from Alix and it makes me think more and in depth, realising there's something lacking in my research.
